Reef Education & Research

Since it’s incorporation in 1997, a mission of the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association (MBARA) is educating the public on the values of sustainable artificial reef fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico. MBARA’s website is used by educators as a source for information on sustainable artificial reef fisheries. The site offers video as well as still photography which is available for an educator to include in curricula.

This page features images of marine life photographed in the local area, near Mexico Beach, Florida.  MBARA photographs are a valuable resource for Marine Biologists, providing data on local marine life.  Many of MBARA’s photos are used by Marine Biologists and Universities around the world.

MBARA hosts workshops on marine life and artificial reefs for both adults and children. For additional information about MBARA’s educational program, contact [email protected].
