MB Canal Construction Going On Now
Construction on the canal is now going on to repair docks, boat slips, repair sea walls, and add parking to the canal area.  This is a 3 million dollar project.  This will take about one year to complete.

Canal parkway will be closed to car traffic cutting off Canal Park and the beaches on the west side.

However, the canal will remain open to boat traffic even with a crane in the canal.

THE CANAL WILL REMAIN OPEN DURING CONSTRUCTION.

The boat ramp will remain open.   There may be some congestion in the canal due to heavy traffic during a holiday or opening of snapper season, so all have to be careful and patient.
