Lionfish Awarness and Ways to Help Control Them
The MBARA held its first Lionfish collection event 16-17 May 2015 in conjunction with Florida's first annual Lionfish Awareness Day and the launch of the Reef Rangers Program.  The seas were rough and hampered divers getting out to remove Lionfish from reefs during the weekend.  However, three divers made it out to five reefs close to shore and harvested 23 Lionfish.  The FWC and MBARA encouages divers to join the effort of removing and controlling Lionfish populations to give our native species a better chance of survival on our reefs.   Divers interested in helping should visit WWW.REEFRANGERS.COM to find ways to help effectively target and remove Lionfish.

Memorial Reefs Available for Purchase
